ROYAL ASSCHER - QUEEN'S DIAMOND JUBILEE

Amsterdam-based heritage jeweller Royal Asscher made a special limited edition of the world famous Stars of Africa collection in honour of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee. The 'Diamond Jubilee Stars' collection is crafted in 18-karat rose gold and consists of an exclusive edition of six pieces that are part of the Stars of Africa collection: jewellery that consists of floating diamonds. All six pieces have their own unique serial number and certificate and are only available at Royal Asscher in Harrods, London.

The ring contains 1.32 carats white, 0.40 carat blue and 0.40 carat fancy pink floating diamonds.

Along with the ring comes an 18-karat rose gold pendant with 3.31 carats of white, 0.80 carat blue and 0.80 carat fancy pink diamonds. The colours of the diamonds resemble the three colours of the Union Jack, the British National Flag.

Royal Asscher managing director Mike Asscher said, "The Asscher family has a long-lasting passion for fancy coloured diamonds. The Diamond Jubilee ring is one of the most spectacular rings we have created in this collection. The blue and pink diamonds in combination with the white diamonds show mother nature's true mystery."

Royal Asscher and the ongoing relationship since 1908 when the Asscher brothers of Amsterdam cut the biggest diamond in the world: the Cullinan. The Cullinan I(530 carats) was mounted in the head of the Scepter with the Cross, the Cullinan II(317 carats) was mounted in St. Edward's Crown. Both are part of the Royal Crown Jewels and on permanent display in the British monarchy have had an Tower of London.
