The brain child of founder Russ Finney, the new non-commercial site is targeted to be a premium web destination for people seeking high quality information technology (IT) related papers, tools, and links.
"My goal is for this site to be one of the top five IT web addresses by the end of this year," said Russ Finney, site founder. "Currently some tremendous IT web resources already exist, but each one has its own specific purpose: commercial, academic, or otherwise. The objective for the itm Web Site is to provide an organized gateway for IT practitioners into these vast, scattered materials."
"In addition, the site will provide a home base for some of the highest caliber research papers available in this field," said Finney, who also works as an IS Director for an international high technology manufacturing company. "My hope is that the itm Web Site will become one of the central sources of non-commercial IT research materials on the web. "Selecting the host service for the site was a difficult decision," stated Finney. "Cost was a big factor in the analysis, as was the technical horsepower of the servers and web connections. With Geocities, we got both - low cost and excellent speed. The only drawback is the lack of a unique domain name. This is an issue I feel can be tackled after an audience has been developed for the site."
